List of death-row inmates last meal requests

There are about many hundreds of thousands of death row inmates from all over the world who had received one last special meal requests. These requests are considered to be the last meal of death row inmates before their execution. Here are a list of death row inmates who had received their last-meal requests.

  1. Peter Kurten: Labeled “The Vampire of Dusseldorf” or better known by most people as “The Dusseldorf Monster”, Kurten had committed a series of murders in 1929. prior to this, Kurten also had a lengthy criminal record for other offenses such as kidnapping, arson and attempted murder. He was executed in Germany in 1931, his last meal was wienerschnitzel and fried potatoes with white wine and prior to his execution, he was granted a request for seconds.
  2. Timothy McVeigh: Well-known domestic terrorist who was responsible for a U.S. federal bombing in Oklahoma City that killed 168 people on April 19, 1995. He was sentenced to death for this devastating crime and executed by lethal injection in June 2001. His last meal request was two pints of mint chocolate chip ice cream.
  3. Thomas J. Grasso: Executed in Oklahoma in 1995 for murdering two elderly women. His last-meal request consisted of two dozen steamed mussels, two dozen steamed clams with a lemon wedge, a BK double cheeseburger, half-a dozen barbecued spareribs, two thick strawberry milkshakes, a slice of pumpkin pie with whipped cream, diced strawberries and a 16-ounce can of spaghetti and meatballs. However, when given his last meal, he issued a public statement asking for a can of spaghettios instead. His final words before his execution was “I did not get my spaghettios, I just got spaghetti, I wanted the press to know this”.
  4. John Wayne Gacy: Labeled “The Serial Killer Clown”, Gacy was convicted of raping and murdering 33 young boys and was executed in Illinois in 1994 by lethal injection. His last meal request was 12 pieces of fried shrimp, a bucket of original recipe KFC chicken, french fries and a pound of strawberries. Prior to his conviction, Gacy was manager of three KFC restaurants.
  5. Ricky Ray Rector: Executed in Arkansas in 1992 for the 1981 murder of a police officer. His last meal request consisted of steak, fried chicken, cherry kool-aid and a slice of pecan pie. He left the pecan pie behind telling a prison guard he was saving it for later.
  6. Victor Feguer: Executed by hanging in 1963 in Iowa. His last meal was a single olive with the pit still in it, he thinks of it as his last meal because it would gradually rise from his unmarked grave to become an olive tree.
  7. Ronnie Lee Gardner: Convicted career criminal and serial killer who was placed into foster care at a young age. He was convicted on a number of charges including robbery, kidnapping and prostitution, he was also convicted on two counts of murder and was given a life sentence for the first murder and the death penalty for the second one. He was executed by firing squad in the state of Utah on June 18, 2010, before being executed, Gardner had a last meal consisting of steak, a lobster tail, a slice of apple pie with vanilla ice cream and 7up. He was also requested to watch The Lord of the Rings trilogy while enjoying his last meal.
  8. Ted Bundy: One of America’s most notorious serial killers was put to death in the electric chair in Florida in 1989. He declined a special last meal request so he was given the traditional standard last meal consisting of steak cooked medium rare, eggs over easy, hash browns, toast with butter and jelly, a glass of milk and a glass of orange juice but refused to eat any of it.
  9. Lawrence Russell Brewer: One of three white supremacists convicted in the June 1998 killing of James Byrd Jr in Jasper Texas. He was sentenced to death for this crime and was executed in Texas on September 21, 2011 by lethal injection. Before his execution, Brewer had requested a huge last meal which consisted of two chicken fried steaks smothered in white gravy with sliced onions, a triple bacon cheeseburger, a cheese omelet with ground beef, tomatoes, onions, bell peppers and jalapenos, fried okra with ketchup, a pound of barbecued meat, half a loaf of bread, three loaded fajitas, a meat lovers pizza, three root beers, a pint of Blue Bell ice cream, and a slab of peanut butter fudge with crushed peanuts. However, after his last meal request was given to him, he refused to eat any of it stating he was not hungry. As a result of this, the state of Texas has decided to stop granting special last meal requests to death row inmates.
  10. Allen Lee “Tiny” Davis: Convicted on three counts of first degree murder and executed by electric chair in Florida in 1999. His last meal request consisted of one lobster tail, half a pound of fried shrimp, six ounces of fried clams, fried potatoes, half a loaf of garlic bread and 32 ounces of A&W root beer.
  11. William Bonin: Serial killer/rapist labeled “The Freeway Killer” who raped, tortured and murdered 21 young boys in a series of killings in 1979, he was put to death by lethal injection in 1996 in California. His last meal request was two large pepperoni pizzas with bacon & sausage, three pints of chocolate ice cream and three six-packs of Coca-Cola and Pepsi.
  12. Stephen Wayne Anderson: Executed in California in 2002 for murder. His last meal was two grilled cheese sandwiches, a pint of cottage cheese, tomato soup, sliced onions & tomatoes, a hominy/corn mixture, a slice of peach pie with a pint of chocolate chip ice cream and radishes. He was also given a glass of warm milk to drink.
  13. Teresa Lewis: Executed in Virginia in 2010 for murder and conspiracy. Her last meal request was fried chicken breasts with mashed potatoes and peas with butter, apple pie and a Dr. Pepper.
  14. Robert Alton Harris: Executed in California by gas chamber in 1992 for the murders of two teenage boys. His last meal request was a 21-piece bucket of original recipe KFC chicken, two large pizzas from Domino’s, a bag of jelly beans, two pints of ice cream, a six pack of Pepsi and a pack of Carmel cigarettes. He also requested a frozen Tombstone pizza as his last meal.
  15. Anthony Nigel Diaz: Sentenced to death for murder and executed by lethal injection in the state of Florida in 2006. He declined to choose a final meal and was given the actual prison meal which he declined to eat as well.
  16. Clarence Ray Allen: Second oldest inmate to be executed at age 77. He was convicted on charges of burglary and first degree murder and sentenced to death, he was executed by lethal injection in California in 2006, before he was executed, he had a last meal of steak, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, sugar free pecan pie and sugar free black walnut ice cream. He was then given a glass of milk or water to wash it all down.
  17. Daniel Anthony Lucas: Executed by lethal injection in Georgia on April 27, 2016. His last meal was a meat lovers pizza, a steak and cheese calzone, two stuffed portobello mushrooms, a chef salad with honey mustard and ranch dressing and a glass of orange juice.
  18. John Martin Scripps: Executed by hanging in 1996. His last meal was a slice of pizza and a cup of hot chocolate.
  19. Phillip Workman: Executed in Tennessee in 2007 by lethal injection. He declined a special last meal but asked for a large vegetarian pizza to be served to the homeless. However, it got denied and was soon carried out by others from across the country.
  20. Gerald Lee Mitchell: Executed in 2001 by lethal injection. Before his execution, he had a large bag of assorted Jolly Rancher candies.
  21. James Edward Smith: Executed in Texas in 1990 by lethal injection for murder. He chose a lump of dirt for his last meal so that he could think of a way of having a voodoo ritual by having his spirit being moved on. However, this request was denied by prison officials so instead, he had a cup of yogurt for his last meal.
