The unpredescented future of Adult Swim Canada

Cartoon Network Canada’s lineup after midnight hasn’t approved much since they cut down Adult Swim’s runtime to 3 hours every night (9pm-12am) and started airing more classic/original Cartoon Network programming after dark. This was not considered to be the wisest course of assumption for one Canadian specialty channel to make and also, the Adult Swim Canada website has been pretty much the same since then and there were no recent updates to be made but why would this be uncertain?

This needs to change sometime soon, there is no way that a Corus kids channel would cut back on its original programming to air more decent shows and create such a lineup that doesn’t even seem to stand well with what they would air in its schedule nowadays. The same thing goes for the Canadian version of Adult Swim but it’s hard to say why the schedule was being scaled down to 3 hours, it seemed so that Corus may have done that to make room for those classic Cartoon Network shows to air in its late night slot but why have a kids channel that would air all of its own programming and put up such a decent lineup, Don’t know why Corus made a brave decision by having Cartoon Network Canada replace some of their original shows with other decent kids shows airing on other kids channels in its lineup as well as cut down on Adult Swim’s runtime. This is why Corus is heavily over-relient on U.S. programming other than most Canadian cables nowadays.

Remember when Corus purchased the rights to U.S. channels, they had purchased the rights to both Cartoon Network and Adult Swim, they had also purchased the rights to Disney programming. What they do is purchase these rights to U.S. based channels and then feed it to Canadian citizens. That is why Corus is over-relient with those programming on U.S. channels other than with its programming on Canadian channels.

They had also acquired these specialty channels from Shaw Media and then add them onto their roster. Remember when Corus shut down Teletoon Retro, that was when most of the classic cartoon shows airing on that channel moved over to the main Teletoon network which in turn, moved all of its original CN programming over to the Canadian Cartoon Network channel to match its American counterpart, they’ve had also snatched away all of its Adult Swim programming airing on Teletoon’s late night schedule “Teletoon At Night” (Formerly Teletoon Detour) and then air them on their own late-night Adult Swim block, they had also took away most of TAN’s programming and then moved them over to the Canadian Adult Swim just to shake things up a bit. However, some of TAN’s programming had since returned to its own late night block including new Canadian produced adult shows like Knuckleheads and Night Sweats, the latter of which had originally intended to air in its own late-night block on TAN as it is being distributed by Blue Ant Media. Since then, most of the adult cartoons airing on Adult Swim Canada returned to TAN and the Canadian Adult Swim was then reduced to a three hour block but why would this be unneccessary? That is why Corus is making progress on what they do with their specialty programming nowadays.

Also, some of CN’s original programming has since returned to airing on Teletoon and overtime, some of Adult Swim’s programming has returned to Teletoon’s late night schedule as well (e.g. Robot Chicken & Rick & Morty) but with all the speculation going around, I’m starting to worry that Corus may need to bolster up both adult animated blocks a bit since neither one of these blocks are most suitable to airing towards mature adult content and all they do air is mostly Canadian produced adult content as well as more decent adult shows but I do have the perfect solution for Corus to let Adult Swim Canada revert to its normal 9pm-5am slot because with only 3 hours of airtime, it needs to have much more reluctance and also, 3 hours is not much of an airtime for one late-night block to handle. In fact, I’d like to see both blocks air around the same time and end at the same time and I’d like for TAN to be on the same page as Adult Swim Canada because I wanted both late night blocks to air nightly 9pm-5am. I’d also like TAN to air only Canadian adult animated shows as well as some select programming from Adult Swim because I really do hate seeing all-night back to back marathons of shows on TAN on weeknights and I’d also like Adult Swim Canada to return to its normal time slot as it has always been since the day it launched because most people can’t stand watching only 3 hours of it every night.

If there’s any consolation to this, when will new Canadian produced shows come out?
